Don't Be Hangry: How Food and Nutrition Impact Mood and Energy
Don't Be Hangry: How Food and Nutrition Impact Mood and Energy
Join RIWBA for a practical, evidence-based presentation with Shira Hirshberg, MS, RDN, LDN, a registered dietitian and founder of All Foods Nutrition.
Shira will discuss how different foods and combinations of foods can affect energy and mood. Participants will work together to create balanced meals and snacks that fit realistically into their own lives, while exploring the difference between hunger and appetite, recognizing personal hunger signals, and considering other reasons we may eat, including emotions, stress, or simply needing a break.
The program will also examine the impact of both physical and mental restriction on eating habits. Drawing on her graduate education in nutrition at the University of Rhode Island, clinical training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and experience working with clients in private practice as well as gastroenterology, primary care, and endocrinology settings, Shira will offer practical strategies that can be incorporated into busy professional lives.
Shira’s areas of expertise include digestive health, women’s health, disordered eating, and cardiovascular health. The program will include plenty of time for participant questions about diet and nutrition.
