Please join us for our first Coffee & Conversation of 2019, “A Balancing Act…Lawyering & Parenting,” on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. at New Harvest Coffee Roasters in The Arcade in downtown Providence.
The discussion will focus on issues affecting female attorneys who are planning to start or who already have a family. Such issues may include planning for and negotiating your maternity leave benefits, your re-entry into practice after leave and your work schedule, balancing professional and personal responsibilities and new issues that may arise; and how to maximize your time and efficiency. All RIWBA members are welcome, and we encourage parents of all levels of experience (newer parents, more experienced parents & future parents) to attend.
To go along with this event’s theme, we will be collecting donations to benefit Project Undercover, Rhode Island’s only state-wide diaper bank! Project Undercover, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides diapers, socks, underwear and baby wipes for free to help the approximately 45,000 children throughout Rhode Island living in poverty. These items are not covered by safety net programs such as food stamps or WIC and are a luxury for many of these children. While donations of any of the listed items would be appreciated, there is currently a great need for underwear (ages 2-18) and ankle socks (ages 2-18).
If you plan to attend the event, please consider bringing new, unopened packages of underwear, socks, diaper or wipes. Thank you in advance!
You can learn more about Project Undercover at http://www.projectundercover.org.
Our Coffee & Conversation events are round table discussions in a casual setting. So please feel free to drop by for as much time as your schedule allows. For planning purposes, please RSVP to Gina Lemay at glemay@wjclaw.com by January 28, 2019.
We hope to see you there!
